Description: TotalMed interviews are conducted with manager approval. The unit operates with a rotating pool of seven technicians. They handle general nuclear medicine, theranostics, Y90s, cardiology clinic tasks, stress tests, and PET in the hospital. Typical nuclear medicine procedures include 8-10 per day. PET procedures average around 10 per day. Doses for PET are sourced from a facility in another location. Minimum years of experience required is 2-3 years. First-time travelers are accepted. Patient types include inpatient cardiac cases, general nuclear medicine studies, and Y90 procedures. Technicians cooperate with nurse practitioners for injections. Common treatments involve F-18, I-131 therapies, and I-123 for adults and pediatrics. Supervisory staff is available during day shifts. On-call responsibilities are limited, primarily involving medication and dosage inquiries. Call distribution occurs evenly among technicians. Holiday availability is about 50%, subject to change based on departmental needs. Scheduling requires consideration of weekend rotations, with shifts planned a few weeks in advance. Scrub colors are flexible with restrictions on denim and camouflage. The unit fosters teamwork and collaboration among staff members.
