SENIOR RELATIONSHIP ADVISOR II, WEALTH MANAGEMENT (OH: R157915) The Senior Relationship Advisor manages complex wealth management high‑net‑worth (HNW) and ultra‑high‑net‑worth (UHNW) client relationships and delivers high‑quality fiduciary and administrative services. The partner assumes primary responsibility for client satisfaction, collaborating with service teams and Northern Trust resources to ensure timely delivery of exceptional service, issue resolution, and effective communication of client needs. The role also involves coordinating with clients’ professional advisors to identify and implement advisory solutions. Responsibilities Manage assigned accounts of wealth‑management clients by building a thorough understanding of their needs and goals in collaboration with the client service team and professional advisors. Exhibit clear knowledge of governing documents, account agreements, fiduciary duties, applicable laws (trust, tax, estate planning), and prudent investment principles. Lead client conversations on life‑driven wealth management, providing proactive advice on products, services, regulatory or tax changes, and appropriate client actions. Explain complex concepts clearly to clients using non‑technical terminology and advise on suitable solutions. Maintain knowledge of Northern Trust fiduciary standards and resources, applying judgment to identify and resolve fiduciary risks. Build relationships with referral sources and external professional advisors to generate new business opportunities. Participate in community and professional organizations to represent the firm and showcase its expertise. Coach and mentor less experienced partners and provide leadership on fiduciary projects and committees. Implement complex initiatives involving multiple disciplines and resolve ambiguous issues. Qualifications 12–15 years of experience as a relationship manager in trust administration, estate administration, estate planning, or related fields. Preferred experience with high‑net‑worth and ultra‑high‑net‑worth clients. Ability to manage portfolios with assets under management in the multi‑million or billion dollar range. Proven knowledge of fiduciary and financial products, investment, tax, legal, and operations expertise. Understanding of fiduciary standards, principles, and applicable laws and regulations. Strong negotiation, problem‑solving, delegation, leadership, and sales skills. Membership or strong desire for professional designations such as JD, CFP, CPWA, or similar.
