BAKER / PASTRY LEAD

New General Café & Coffee Bar | Winter Park, FL

New General is looking for a passionate, dependable, and experienced  Baker / Pastry Lead to join our kitchen team. We are a health-forward café committed to creating high-quality, house-made food using thoughtful ingredients.

This position is responsible for producing our daily baked goods and helping bring new, exciting products to life. Our ideal candidate is passionate about baking, highly organized, consistent, and takes pride in producing beautiful products from scratch.

• Prepare and bake a variety of daily pastries, baked goods, desserts, breads, and specialty items.
• Follow established recipes while maintaining consistency in flavor, quality, and presentation.
• Develop and test new seasonal and menu items in collaboration with management.
• Manage daily production to ensure all baked goods are prepared fresh, on time, and in appropriate quantities.
• Monitor product quality and maintain high presentation standards.
• Assist with ordering, inventory, and proper storage of ingredients.
• Minimize waste and communicate product needs to management.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary baking station.
• Follow all food safety and sanitation procedures.
• Help establish and maintain standardized recipes, production procedures, and portioning.
• Support the kitchen team as needed.

• Previous professional baking or pastry experience required.
• Strong knowledge of baking techniques, ingredients, and recipe scaling.
• Experience working in a high-volume kitchen or bakery environment preferred.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple production priorities.
• Strong attention to detail, consistency, and presentation.
• Dependable, organized, and able to work efficiently.
• Comfortable working early morning shifts and weekends.
• A positive attitude and strong team mentality.
