Occupational TherapistSalary Range $46.00 - $46.00 Hourly Position Type Full Time Job Shift DaysDescriptionJob Summary:This is a professional position involving the responsibility of evaluating, planning and providing occupational therapy treatment to patients in accordance with written prescription from a qualified provider. In the case of Direct Access, the occupational therapist will evaluate, plan and provide treatment within the guidelines set forth regarding Direct Access. The occupational therapist is responsible to the Director of Rehabilitation for the operation of the department. Supervision may be exercised over the work of a COTA, Physical Therapy Aides and clerical employees assigned to the service. The Occupational Therapist does related work as necessary or requiredKey Responsibilities:Performing physical therapy evaluations and treatments using safe, evidence based techniques to infants, children, adolescents, adults and geriatrics.Developing and implementing new and revised physical therapy care programs including discharge plans.Conducting screenings to determine the need for further examination or referrals to other healthcare professionals within the network.Collaborating with other personnel to formulate the best possible patient care.Maintaining appropriate documentation of all physical therapy evaluations, re-evaluations, progress notes, care plans, treatment notes, consultation, and discharge summaries.Assisting in the development of physical therapy policy and procedures.Initiating wellness and injury prevention education within the facility and the community at large.QualificationsEducation:Master's Degree in Occupation Therapy from accredited institution, Bachelor's Degree with experienceCertifications:Licensed and currently registered by the NYS Education Department as a Occupational TherapistExperience:Good knowledge of the principles, techniques and practices of occupational therapyGood knowledge of the operation and maintenance of apparatus and equipment used in occupational therapyGood knowledge of pathological conditions and socioeconomic factors affecting a patient's disabilitiesWorking knowledge of community resources applicable to occupational therapy; ability to plan and supervise the work of othersMust have the ability to establish and maintain working relationshipsGood communication skillsMust have computer skills relative to the electronic record, charting, auditing and maintenancePhysical Requirements:Physical condition commensurate with demands of the position
