Production Technician

Production TechnicianThe Production Technician prepares, loads, and unloads molds for polyurethane foam products, operating industrial ovens and handling heavy materials in a technical, hands-on, and safety-sensitive production environment. This role involves frequent heavy lifting, the use of forklifts and other equipment, and careful handling of chemicals and coatings to produce high-quality finished products.ResponsibilitiesPrepare molds for production, including cleaning, coating, and ensuring they are properly set up for pouring or injection.Measure chemical components accurately according to specified product density (light, medium, heavy) and mix chemicals quickly to prevent premature curing.Pour or inject polyurethane mixtures into mold cavities, adjusting techniques based on mold size and weight.Use forklifts, carts, or lifts to safely transport large or heavy molds to and from the curing oven.Load molds into industrial ovens, ensuring correct placement and spacing for even heat distribution.Set and monitor oven temperature and curing time based on product specifications and pig type.Monitor foam expansion during curing to ensure full mold fill, proper shape, and consistent product quality.Demold and finish products after curing, using cutting tools, sanders, sprayers, and other basic fabrication equipment.Read and follow work orders and production specifications to complete tasks accurately and on schedule.Maintain a clean and organized work area, following safety procedures when handling chemicals, coatings, and adhesives.Lift and move finished products and molds, often in the 20–50 lb range, using proper lifting techniques.Work collaboratively in a shop environment, communicating with team members to support smooth production workflows.Essential SkillsExperience operating a forklift safely in a production or industrial environment.Ability to perform heavy lifting and safely move products and molds weighing approximately 20–50 lbs.Skill in reading work orders and following detailed production specifications.Comfort working with chemicals, coatings, adhesives, and fabrication tools in a safety-sensitive environment.Basic machine operation skills, including use of cutting tools, sanders, and sprayers.Attention to detail when measuring, mixing, and pouring chemical components to meet product density requirements.Ability to monitor curing and expansion processes and make adjustments to maintain product quality.Commitment to maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work area.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in an industrial, manufacturing, or fabrication setting.Familiarity with working in environments involving coatings, adhesives, and polyurethane materials.Ability to follow standardized processes and track curing cycles for consistency.Strong awareness of safety practices related to chemical handling and equipment operation.Comfort working in a hands-on role that requires standing, moving, and lifting throughout the shift.Why Work Here?Employees tend to stay long term, reflecting a stable environment and consistent workload.
