Title Dental hygienist Job Description Clinical Hygiene: Perform comprehensive dental prophylaxis, scaling, and root planing for a diverse patient base. Diagnostics & Assessment: Conduct thorough oral health assessments, evaluate periodontal health, and take vital signs and periapical X-rays. Care Planning: Develop and implement personalized preventative care plans tailored to individual patient needs. Patient Education: Provide health education and counseling on oral hygiene practices and the link between oral health and overall wellness. Clinical Support: Utilize four-handed dentistry techniques and maintain an aseptic work environment following strict infection control protocols. Documentation: Manage clinical documentation, medical records, and electronic health records (EHR) with high accuracy and HIPAA compliance. Collaboration: Coordinate with the dental team to enhance patient flow and treatment outcomes. Salary Range part-time $70 - $75 per hour - Competitive salary based on qualifications and experience. Shift & Schedule Monday: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM Tuesday, Wednesday 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Thursday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Saturday & Sunday: Closed Requirements Infection Control License Licensed dental hygienist Licensure: Active and valid Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) license in the state of California. Clinical Knowledge: Strong proficiency in dental terminology, anatomy, and infection control practices. Compliance: Thorough understanding of HIPAA regulations and healthcare safety standards. Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to provide compassionate patient counseling. Technical: Proficiency in clinical documentation and diagnostic imaging. Preferences Dentrix Experience: 1–2 years of dental hygiene experience in a clinical setting is preferred. Software: Previous experience with Dentrix or similar electronic medical record (EMR) systems. Specialty Skills: Familiarity with pediatric dentistry and chairside assisting techniques. Administration: Experience with medical coding and documentation review.
