Job Description

The Construction Laborer performs a wide range of general construction tasks, including site cleanup, basic use of power tools, and support for digging and other manual labor activities at an active work site.

Responsibilities

• Perform general construction labor tasks to support ongoing projects.
• Clean up work areas, remove debris, and maintain a safe and organized job site.
• Assist with digging ditches and trenches as directed.
• Operate basic power tools and equipment safely and in accordance with instructions.
• Move, load, and unload materials and tools around the work site.
• Follow directions from supervisors and skilled tradespeople to complete assigned tasks.
• Comply with all safety procedures and use appropriate tools and equipment correctly.
• Support other team members with manual labor and site preparation as needed.

• At least 1 year of construction experience in a general labor role.
• Experience performing general labor tasks on construction sites.
• Ability to safely use basic power tools.
• Ability to dig ditches and perform physically demanding manual labor.
• Understanding of basic construction site safety practices.
• Reliability and willingness to follow instructions and work as part of a team.

• Previous experience working on large or complex job sites.
• Ability to learn new tools and construction methods quickly.
• Strong work ethic and consistent attendance.
• Capability to work in varying outdoor conditions and perform repetitive physical tasks.

Work Environment

This role is based on an active construction site, which involves working outdoors and in varying weather conditions. The work is physically demanding and includes standing, walking, lifting, carrying, bending, and digging for extended periods. You use general construction tools and basic power tools while following all site safety rules and procedures. Work hours follow typical construction schedules, and attire should be practical and suitable for a construction environment, including appropriate workwear and safety gear as required.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Yorktown, VA.

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Yorktown,VA.
