Job Information and Duties The Office of Addiction Services and Supports (OASAS) is seeking a Psychiatrist 1 or Psychiatrist 2 to serve as a member of the Kingsboro Addiction Treatment Center’s (ATC’s) multidisciplinary treatment team. The incumbent will carry out psychiatric examinations and assessments, make diagnoses, write physician’s orders, determine the need for and carry out consultations with external psychiatric personnel, educate patients individually, participate with other clinical staff on the treatment team, respond to psychiatric emergencies, carry out discharge planning and post‑discharge referral, carry out quality improvement activities, may supervise a Nurse Practitioner Psychiatry, and other job‑related tasks as assigned. Computer skills are required. This position is expected to be Monday through Friday, but there is flexibility with determining the work schedule for this position and work hours will be discussed at time of interview. New York State & Local Retirement System Defined benefit plan. Pension benefit based on age, years of credited service, and final average salary. New members of the retirement system would be in Tier 6, with pre‑tax contributions based on salary. Membership is mandatory for permanent, full‑time employees. Membership is optional for others. Members are vested after 5 years. Full retirement at age 63. May retire as early as age 55 if vested, but if less than age 63, retirement allowance will be permanently reduced by an early age reduction. May take loan against contribution after at least one year of service. Repayment of loans is through payroll deduction. New York State Deferred Compensation Plan Voluntary savings program used to save additional, tax‑deferred money for retirement. Employees elect how to invest contributions. Options include a guaranteed interest fund, money market fund, and a variety of stock and bond mutual funds. Attendance and Leave Basic work week for full‑time employees is 40 hours (8 hours/day) at our Addiction Treatment Centers. Vacation Accruals: Earn 13 days annually during first 6 years. Receive one bonus day of vacation on anniversary date for each year of service up to 7 years (and 7 days). Starting the seventh year, earn at rate of 20 days per year. After completing 20 years, become eligible for additional bonus days. Can be carried over year to year, subject to maximum accrual as of April 1st of each year. Sick Leave: Earn 13 days annually. May be used at retirement to offset cost of retiree medical coverage, and to be calculated as service credit in calculation of pension benefits. Can be carried over year to year, subject to maximum accrual. Personal Leave: Credited with 5 days each year on anniversary date. Holiday Leave: 13 compensated State holidays annually. Flex Spending Accounts Health Care Spending Accounts – contribute pre‑tax dollars to pay for eligible health‑related expenses not reimbursed by insurance. Dependent Care Advantage Accounts – contribute pre‑tax dollars to pay for childcare, elder care, or disabled dependent care. Adoption Advantage Account – contribute pre‑tax dollars to pay for expenses related to adoption of an eligible child. Public Service Loan Forgiveness The Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) Program allows public service employees to have the remaining balance on direct loans forgiven after 120 qualifying payments are made under an accepted repayment plan while working full‑time for an eligible employer.
