Total staffed beds are 323 inpatient beds - 70 of them dedicated to Neonatal ICU.RN NICU - ResponsibilitiesThe RN NICU identifies disease entities to recognize complications and determine the necessary therapeutic interventions.Perform professional nursing duties in an ICU setting, assessing patients' physical, emotional, spiritual, and socio-cultural needs.Demonstrate skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patient served, including pre-operative and post-operative nursing care.Will be dealing with the highest level of care for premature and ill newborns, as designated by The American Academy of Pediatrics.The RN NICU offers the full range of pediatric medical subspecialists, pediatric surgical subspecialists, and pediatric anesthesiologists on site.Perform complex surgical procedures to repair complex congenital or acquired conditions.The RN NICU coordinates all aspects of care for conditions and associated complications including coagulation defects, congenital heart defects, Extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO), gastrointestinal disorders, genetic and/or metabolic disorders, prematurity, respiratory distress and failure, pulmonary hypertension, renal disorders and sepsis and septic shock.RN NICU - RequirementsMust possess a bachelor's degree in nursing and eligibility under the Superior Academic Achievement provision -OR- Possess of a bachelor's degree in nursing.A full, unrestricted license in the District of Columbia is required; candidates willing to apply for their DC license within 24 hours of an offer for the position is also accepted.Must have a minimum of two years' experience.Current Basic Life Support (BLS) approved by the American Heart Association (AHA) is mandatory for all specialties.KurzSolutions is committed to improving health outcomes by providing well-managed companies with the top healthcare talent in the market.
