Identify communication and swallowing disorders, as well as barriers to effective communication. Develop individualized treatment plans to improve residents' ability to speak, comprehend language, and safely consume food or liquids. Provide interventions for speech articulation, language development, voice disorders, cognitive‑linguistic impairments, and swallowing difficulties. Assist residents in recovering from speech or swallowing issues related to conditions such as stroke, neurological disorders, or dementia. Help residents improve their social communication and interaction abilities, enhancing their quality of life. Educate residents, families, and staff on communication techniques, swallowing strategies, and safety precautions. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals, to ensure holistic care. Participate in care‑planning meetings to set and review therapeutic goals. Maintain accurate records of assessments, treatments, and progress to ensure compliance with healthcare regulations. Qualifications Graduate of an accredited school with a master’s degree in Speech‑Language Pathology. License as required by the State of Wisconsin to practice as a Speech‑Language Pathologist.
