Job Title: Substitute Teacher – Van Meter, Iowa (2025–26 School Year) Compensation: $165/day Requirements: Meets licensure requirements of the Department of Education Job Highlights Work as-needed in PK–12 classrooms across the district Accept assignments as available through Frontline, AEA, or district platform Support consistent instruction, maintain lesson plans, and positively manage classroom behavior Follows/plans a program of study that, as much as possible meets the needs, interests and abilities of students Creates a climate that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students Guides the learning process toward the achievement of stated goals and objectives Demonstrates ability to enhance academic performance and support for implementation of the school district student achievement goals Demonstrates competence in content knowledge appropriate to the substitute teaching position Uses a variety of methods to monitor student learning Demonstrates competence in classroom management Note: The above description is illustrative of tasks and responsibilities.
