JCI has built the industry's leading thermal management platform for the applications that demand it most.As an EHS Engineer, you will lead the development and maintenance of our safety programs, ensuring full compliance with OSHA and local regulations while fostering a strong behavioral safety culture. You will serve as the site Safety Officer and EHS Committee lead, conducting regular audits and risk assessments to proactively mitigate workplace hazards. Additionally, you will partner cross-functionally to support facility expansions and equipment installations through EHS design reviews, lead incident investigations, manage hazardous materials, and deliver comprehensive training programs to maintain a safe, compliant, and collaborative manufacturing environment.This position generally requires a commitment of 4 days onsite per week.You are a dedicated safety professional who takes pride in creating environments where people can do their best work with minimized risk. You are comfortable navigating complex safety and regulatory requirements, but you never lose sight of the fact that your ultimate goal is building a culture where everyone looks out for one another.Responsibilities:Develop, implement, and maintain environmental, health, and safety policies, procedures, and programs in compliance with OSHA and local regulatory requirements.Serve as the Safety Officer and lead the EHS Committee, driving cross functional involvement and a strong behavioral safety cultureSupport facility improvements/expansions and equipment installations by conducting EHS design reviews and safety assessments in conjunction with the engineering teams.Conduct regular site safety audits, risk assessments, and inspections to identify and mitigate workplace hazards.Work closely with Johnson Controls corporate safety group to support company wide policies, compliance, and initiatives.Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation to prevent future occurrences.Manage hazardous materials handling, storage, and disposal processes, including waste characterization and documentation.Deliver EHS training programs to employees and contractors to ensure a strong culture of safety and compliance.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.5+ years experience driving safety in a design and manufacturing environmentProven experience conducting safety audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations.Excellent communication skills with the ability to lead safety training programs and engage employees at all levels.Experience with EHS implementations in conjunction with facility build-outs
