Join an Employee Resource Group, participate in an international lunch, or celebrate your heritage to find your place of belonging.Find Your Future – Whether you are interested in the opportunity to work seasonally or looking to launch your career, GEODIS is the place!*Eligibility varies based on location, job, employee type, or length of service.What you will be doing:Analyzes and diagnoses automation equipment problems and breakdownsRecommends the correct service and repair actions to resolve equipment performance problemsMakes appropriate equipment repairs or modifications to solve operating and performance problems as dictated by the analysis of the equipmentPerforms scheduled equipment maintenanceFollows all scheduled maintenance procedures and policies as dictated by the companyDocuments each service call, providing necessary paperworkObserves all safety procedures, makes certain that hazardous waste is properly disposedMaintains the company service vehicles in a clean, orderly and hazard-free manner to include performing regular maintenance such as oil changes, tire rotations, etc.Secures and maintains service and parts inventory in the company service vehicle.Provides well-maintained personal tools required to effectively perform equipment service duties.Keeps the work area clean and hazard-free.Experience with Tompkins t-Sort Technician (often titled a Robotics Support Engineer) provides on-site and remote technical support for the t-Sort system—a modular, automated material handling and sortation solution. They are responsible for troubleshooting hardware and software issues, performing routine maintenance, and ensuring the sortation robots operate efficientlyPerform service and regular preventative maintenance work on conveyor systems including fabricate, install and repair conveyor systems as planned while keeping appropriate maintenance records.Perform testing and troubleshooting problems with equipment, conveyors, v-belt transfers, Bombay unit sortation system, carton erectors, banding machines, MCC cabinets, stretch wrappers, vision systems, scanners, printers, facility systems (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, elevators), forklifts, and anything else associated with the operation of a distribution facility.Repair or replace control devices such as switches, photo eyes, proximity sensors, pushbuttons, contactors, motor starters, etc. as needed.Set up and operate welders, drill press, grinder, hand tools and other metal working equipment as necessary.Troubleshoot and maintain micro controllers like Omron, Allen Bradley, Mitsubishi, Keyence, and Siemens PLCs with the ability to identify correct I/O points as well as match the addressing with machine schematicEvaluate, detect and report equipment, defective material, improper operations and unusual conditions.This position supports a 24/7 environment and requires on-call coverage after normal business hours and on weekendsOther duties as required and assignedRequirements:High school diploma or GED (General Education Diploma) equivalencyMinimum 3 to 5 years related experience and/or training with mechanical, electrical and hydraulic equipmentExperience with repairing forkliftsTechnical or mechanical training/certifications preferredPossesses a valid driver's licenseAbove average communication skillsAbility to understand the necessary service and training manuals, including the ability to interpret schematics and effectively use electrical diagnostic instrumentsCan safely operate power tools, lifts, hoists, hydraulic jacks and overhead cranesThe following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed.
