Description

American Traveler seeks a Certified Surgical Technologist for a hospital OR position requiring 2 years of hospital experience and BLS certification.

Details

• Hospital OR unit with 4 operating rooms staffed by 5 RNs and 6 surgical techs, 4 of whom are first assists
• Day shift hours of 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM with night coverage provided via on-call (3:30 PM to 7:00 AM, Monday-Friday)
• Procedures include robotic, orthopedic, total joint, ENT, GYN, general, bariatric, and podiatry cases
• Typical procedures include robotic prostate and hysterectomy surgeries, orthopedic shoulder/knee/hip/trauma cases, laparoscopic and open GYN procedures, general surgery, ENT, podiatry, and spine procedures including fusions, laminectomies, and ACDF
• Uses Meditech EMR
• May float to Endoscopy when needed
• Weekend rotation approximately every 5-6 weeks with one on-call night per week

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a hospital setting required
• Recent OR experience required
• BLS certification required
• Active state license required if applicable
• CNOR certification preferred
• Scrub procedure experience preferred

• Unit recognized as a Unit of Distinction in 2019 with strong CNOR certification representation (3 years running)
• Joint Commission certified for both knee and hip procedures
• Grey scrubs supplied and laundered by the hospital, with daily changes required
• Ideal candidates are flexible with a good attitude
• Local candidates not accepted; 50-mile radius rule applies with no exceptions
