Class A-Shift Lead Bus Mechanic

Job Description Academy Busis is seeking a full‑time Class A Shift Lead Bus Mechanic with supervisory experience for the PM shift at our Clearwater, FL location. A $2,500 sign‑on bonus is available. Job Details Shift: 2nd Shift – 3:00 pm – 11:30 pm Pay Range: $28.00–$35.00 per hour, based on experience. Responsibilities Repair, troubleshoot, and diagnose modern tour buses. Perform reconditioning, preventive and routine maintenance. Conduct inspections and road tests. Maintain warranty and repair documentation. Diagnose, inspect, install, disassemble, and clean components such as brakes, suspension, tires, bearings, seals, radiators, water pumps, coolant hoses, alternators, regulators, steering components, oil/air filters, door assemblies, controls, seats, belts, electric motors, pneumatic valves, cables, and linkages. Respond to road calls. Perform basic welding and fabrication. Train and supervise mechanics and cleaners. Qualifications 7+ years of diesel engine maintenance experience. Proficient with diagnostic devices such as DDEC readers, ATEC readers, SmartTire, schematic interpretation, AIC (Freon) recovery and charging equipment. Demonstrated supervisory skills and experience. Proven ability to use hand tools, power tools, hydraulic jacks, welding equipment, and testing instruments. Must have own tools. Valid driver’s license. Basic computer skills. CDL license with Passenger and Air‑brake endorsement is a plus but not required; willingness to obtain a CDL is desirable.
