Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU position requiring 2 years of PICU/CVPICU experience and an active OH or Compact RN license.

Details

• Work in the Cardiovascular Pediatric ICU (CVPICU) of a pediatric hospital
• Day shift schedule, 4x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• 13-week assignment length
• Floating required to NICU, PICU, ED, stepdown, and Medical/Surgical units as needed
• Care for complex pediatric cardiovascular patients including congenital heart disease, post cardiac surgery, and post cardiac catheterization cases
• Utilizes advanced equipment including ECMO, CRRT, VAD (LVAD/RVAD), and hemodynamic monitoring

Requirements

• Active OH State or Compact RN license required, must be in hand
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of CVPICU or PICU experience required in a pediatric hospital setting
• 2 professional references required, at least one from a manager or supervisor (charge nurse references not accepted)
• Skilled in ventilator management, ABG interpretation, chest tube management, and airway care
• Skilled in central line, PICC line, and arterial line management
• Experience with continuous sedation, IV vasopressors, and pediatric dosage calculations required
• Experience with dysrhythmia interpretation and management required

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing to pediatric patients with complex cardiovascular conditions
• Floating to other units is a strong expectation and point of emphasis for this facility
• Candidates must not have worked in a permanent position at this facility within the last 2 years
• Local candidates are not accepted for this RN position due to a 60-mile radius rule
• First-time travelers are not typically considered given the experience requirements for this specialty role
