Our team is highly motivated and passionate about delivering excellence in all operations.Position OverviewThe Accounting Specialist I supports day-to-day accounting activities and contributes to accurate, timely financial close and reporting. This role is responsible for processing transactions across accounts payable and accounts receivable, maintaining the general ledger, assisting with month-end close tasks, and supporting internal controls and audit activities. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and proficient with ERP and spreadsheet tools.Key ResponsibilitiesProcess and review expense reports, vendor invoices, purchase orders, and employee reimbursements in accordance with company policy.Perform accounts receivable duties including invoicing, cash application, and customer collections follow-up to ensure timely payments.Execute accounts payable tasks: verify invoices, prepare payments, and maintain vendor records and vendor management communications.Prepare and post routine journal entries and maintain general ledger account reconciliations.Perform bank reconciliations and investigate reconciling items to ensure accurate cash balances.Support month-end and year-end close activities, including account analysis and preparing supporting schedules.Assist with fixed asset accounting tasks, including capitalization, depreciation schedules, and ledger maintenance.Prepare billing and support billing dispute resolution with internal stakeholders and customers.Support payroll administration and data entry as needed, coordinating with HR and payroll vendors.Contribute to financial reporting and ad-hoc analyses, leveraging Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP) to summarize and present data.Maintain and enforce internal controls, support audit requests, and provide documentation for external and internal audits.Utilize ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, QuickBooks) for transaction processing and reporting; support system and process improvement initiatives.Provide excellent communication with vendors, customers, and internal teams via Microsoft Outlook and Word to resolve inquiries and maintain records.QualificationsAssociate or Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred; equivalent work experience considered.1+ years of accounting experience with exposure to accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and general ledger processes.Familiarity with month-end close procedures, journal entries, and financial reporting under GAAP.Hands-on experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or QuickBooks; demonstrated ability to learn new systems quickly.Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data manipulation, and accurate data entry; proficiency with Microsoft Word and Outlook.Experience with billing, cash application, customer collections, purchase orders, vendor management, and payroll support.Knowledge of internal controls and prior experience supporting audits and audit requests.Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Effective written and verbal communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with cross-functional teams.Preferred: exposure to fixed asset accounting, financial statement preparation, and familiarity with GAAP and audit processes; certifications or progress toward CPA a plus.BenefitsCompetitive Salary - $50,000 - $65,000 in a baseAwesome Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance.Flexible Spending AccountLife, AD&D and LTD Insurance.Plenty of Holidays!4 weeks of PTO!401K Retirement Plan with an awesome match!
