Registered Nurse (RN) – Labor and Delivery

Location: Polson, Montana Full Time Department: Labor and Delivery Job Type: Full-Time (Nights) / Per Diem / Variable Shifts

We're seeking skilled and compassionate Registered Nurses to join the Labor and Delivery team at St. Joseph Medical Center in Polson, MT. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive, evidence-based care to laboring mothers, newborns, and their families in an acute care environment. You will play a critical part in delivering safe, coordinated, and empathetic care, in alignment with clinical standards, nursing ethics, and patient-centered practices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide professional nursing care in a labor and delivery setting, including antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum phases.
• Monitor fetal and maternal health throughout labor and delivery.
• Collaborate with OB/GYNs, midwives, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals.
• Educate and support patients and families regarding birth processes and postpartum care.
• Document patient data, assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in electronic medical records.
• Respond swiftly to obstetric emergencies and follow clinical protocols.
• Adhere to the Montana Nurse Practice Act, ANA Code of Ethics, and unit-specific standards.
• Participate in continuous training and unit meetings to maintain clinical proficiency.

Required Qualifications:

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program
• Montana RN License (active and in good standing) – required upon hire
• BLS Certification (American Heart Association) – required upon hire
• NRP Certification (American Academy of Pediatrics) – required within 90 days of hire
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience in any setting (labor & delivery preferred)

Preferred Qualifications:

• National Certification in Obstetric or Labor & Delivery nursing (e.g., RNC-OB)
• Prior experience in labor and delivery, women's health, or neonatal care
