KeyStaff, Inc., along with The Florida Army National Guard (FLARNG) is seeking a motivated and environmentally conscious Environmental Specialist to support the Conservation Program throughout South Florida. This position is based at the Ronald O. Harrison Readiness Center in Miramar, Florida, and plays a critical role in preserving natural resources while ensuring environmental compliance across military training facilities.

The successful candidate will assist with managing natural resources at the Snake Creek Training Site, support the Environmental Condition of Property (ECOP) and Environmental Site Assessment (ESA) process, and assist in implementing the Pine Rockland Management Plan at Homestead Air Reserve Base. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work alongside environmental professionals while contributing to the mission readiness of the Florida Army National Guard.

Position Summary:
The Environmental Specialist provides scientific, technical, and regulatory support for environmental programs that ensure compliance with federal, state, and military environmental requirements. The position supports conservation initiatives, natural resource management, environmental assessments, regulatory compliance, and environmental stewardship throughout South Florida military installations.

Primary Responsibilities:

* Conservation & Natural Resource Management
* Assist with management of natural resources at the Snake Creek Weekend Training Site.
* Support implementation of the Integrated Natural Resource Management Plan (INRMP).
* Assist with wildlife habitat management, vegetation management, and biological resource conservation.
* Participate in wildlife surveys, biological studies, environmental monitoring, and ecological assessments.
* Assist with implementation of the Pine Rockland Management Plan at Homestead Air Reserve Base.
* Monitor conservation projects to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and military objectives.

Environmental Compliance:
* Assist in statewide implementation of environmental programs related to:
* National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA)
* Endangered Species Act
* Sikes Act
* Participate in Environmental Condition of Property (ECOP) investigations.
* Assist with Environmental Site Assessments (ESA).
* Support due diligence efforts for military construction projects, easements, land acquisitions, and real property transactions.
* Review environmental permits and regulatory documentation.
* Conduct environmental inspections and audits.
* Assist in correcting environmental compliance deficiencies identified during internal and external inspections.

Technical & Scientific Support:
* Collect, analyze, interpret, and report environmental data.
* Prepare technical reports, charts, summaries, and scientific documentation.
* Monitor soil, water, vegetation, wildlife, and other environmental resources.
* Evaluate environmental impacts associated with military activities.
* Assist with pollution prevention and environmental restoration initiatives.
* Recommend environmentally responsible management practices.

Regulatory Support:
* Review and implement environmental policies, standards, and regulations.
* Assist with development and implementation of environmental management plans.
* Support investigations involving environmental incidents.
* Coordinate with regulatory agencies and military personnel.
* Maintain compliance with applicable federal, state, and military environmental requirements.

South Florida Assignment Responsibilities:
* Assist the Conservation Program Team Leader with implementation of the Florida Army National Guard Conservation Program.
* Coordinate natural resource management activities on the 70-acre conservation parcel adjacent to Homestead Air Reserve Base.
* Support wildlife and vegetation management programs.
* Assist with environmental planning and conservation initiatives.
* Review environmental findings and recommend corrective actions.
* Assist military units with implementing corrective measures following environmental assessments.
* Support ongoing environmental monitoring, evaluations, and regulatory reporting.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Qualified applicants should possess:
* Knowledge of environmental science principles and natural resource management.
* Knowledge of environmental regulations and compliance programs.
* Ability to collect, analyze, interpret, and report scientific data.
* Ability to prepare professional technical reports.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to interpret environmental regulations and policies.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
* Strong organizational and project coordination skills.
* Experience using Microsoft Office and standard computer applications.
* Ability to establish effective working relationships with government agencies, contractors, and military personnel.
* Experience managing contracts or environmental projects is preferred.

Minimum Qualifications:
Applicants must meet one of the following:
* Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Environmental Science, Biology, Ecology, Natural Resources, Forestry, Wildlife Management, Geology, Chemistry, Physical Science, or another related natural or physical science;
* Bachelor's degree in a related field with a minimum of four (4) years of professional environmental experience;
* Associate's degree in one of the physical or natural sciences and at least three (3) years of professional environmental experience.
