MRI Technologist

Overview The University of Vermont Health Network is seeking an MRI Technologist II to perform high-quality MRI exams in an academic, patient-centered environment. In this role, you will operate advanced MRI equipment, follow established protocols, and collaborate with radiologists and care teams to support accurate diagnosis and treatment. You’ll ensure rigorous MRI safety practices, prepare and monitor patients, administer contrast as authorized, and support teaching and learning. Responsibilities Perform MRI examinations following established protocols and safety standards Operate and troubleshoot advanced MRI equipment and related imaging systems Prepare, screen, and position patients, ensuring comfort and MRI safety compliance Administer contrast agents as authorized and monitor patients for adverse reactions Evaluate image quality and collaborate with radiologists to optimize diagnostic value Maintain accurate patient records and utilize PACS/RIS effectively Educate patients and families on MRI procedures and expectations Support training and mentoring of students or new technologists as needed Qualifications MRI scanning and protocols Cross-sectional anatomy knowledge Contrast administration and safety MRI safety and screening Patient positioning and comfort PACS/RIS operation Radiation and magnet safety regulations IV placement and monitoring Image quality assessment Communication with radiologists and providers ARRT (MR) certification Basic Life Support (BLS) State radiologic technologist licensure (as applicable) MRI safety training Continuing education in MRI technology Benefits Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k #J-18808-Ljbffr
