Position Overview- Location: Candidates must reside in Rockford or nearby areas in Illinois (Homeownership or rental is required; available only in Boone, Ogle, Stephenson, and Winnebago counties)
- Role: You will invite an individual with an intellectual disability to live with you full-time, integrating them into your household and family life.
- Estimated Annual Earnings: Around $33,000 (tax-exempt at the federal level) + Monthly contributions for rent and household expenses.
- Opportunity to work from home.

Each individual is unique, but your responsibilities may encompass:
- Assisting with daily living skills, including cooking, budgeting, cleaning, and decision-making.
- Helping with medication management and attending medical appointments.
- Encouraging community involvement and fostering a sense of belonging.
- Providing transportation and support for daily activities as necessary.
- Keeping records and maintaining communication with the support team.
- Empowering individuals to build confidence, gain independence, and pursue their personal aspirations.
Depending on the specific needs of the individual, support may also involve:
- Help with personal care tasks.
- Behavioral support.
- Medical or physical assistance.
- Specialized care and monitoring.
Creating a sense of belonging starts with having the right support. Here’s what you can expect:
- Comprehensive initial and ongoing training.
- Support from a dedicated and experienced team.
- Resources and guidance throughout the matching process.
- Assistance with licensing and program requirements.
- Continuous partnership and support.
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- Current residency in Illinois is required (due to state funding regulations).
- Must own or rent a home, apartment, condo, or townhouse.
- Active homeowner’s or renter’s insurance is necessary.
- Reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and current vehicle insurance are required.
- Access to the internet and basic computer skills are essential.
- Ability to complete necessary screenings, background checks, and training.
- Must be a registered healthcare worker (Direct Support Professional).
