Registered Nurse (RN) - Night Shift

This is a 13-week contract position.

Night shift: 3 shifts of 12 hours each.

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for maintaining the delivery of quality care through adherence to the nursing care plan. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses and Certified Nursing Assistants while ensuring patient and employee safety.

Responsibilities:

• Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission to formulate an individualized plan of care.
• Identify teaching needs and goals related to each patient's diagnosis in collaboration with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team.
• Ensure timely documentation of all assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the medical record.
• Participate in the patient rehabilitation program and manage direct patient care using the nursing process.
• Initiate discharge planning and patient teaching from the day of admission.
• Communicate pertinent changes in patient status to ensure continuity of care and safety.
• Provide direction and supervision to ancillary nursing personnel and delegate responsibilities effectively.
• Contribute positively to the unit's functioning by providing calm direction and reassurance.
• Maintain open communication with managerial and nursing staff regarding service needs and supplies.
• Assume charge responsibilities following the orientation period when requested.
• Engage in ongoing professional development and continuing education.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• BLS Certification required prior to first shift.
• ACLS required prior to first shift (specific to designated facilities).
• Minimum of two years of bedside clinical experience preferred.
• Critical care experience is required.
