Project ManagerAs the Project Manager, you are responsible for planning, implementing, tracking, and reporting of assigned projects which have a beginning, an end, and specified deliverables. You will manage project risks, issues/problems, and activity progress to ensure project goals are achieved, and assist with problem resolution or risk mitigation as needed. The Project Manager identifies resources needed, assign major project roles and coordinate activities and tasks among project team members, other internal departments and client or vendor/subcontractor organizations as needed to meet project goals and ensure project completion is on schedule, within budget constraints, and of the appropriate quality standards for the project scope. Business Administration or other related discipline required; or the equivalent combination of education and experience that is required for the specific job level is requiredStrong technical background to manage technical projects and handle competing interests requiredProject Management Professional (PMP) certification or the equivalent level of education and experience for the job level is preferredCompetenciesPossess knowledge of project management standards, processes, procedures and guidelinesPossess knowledge of the industry project management best practices, such as the Project Management Body of KnowledgePossess knowledge of various types of IT project methodologies and life cycles (for example, conversions, incremental, rapid delivery, classic or traditional waterfall phases of analysis, design, development, testing and implementation) and the correct project applicationPossess knowledge of standards relevant to the software industry (for example, ISO, CMM and Six Sigma)Ability to adhere to the approved Project Management policy and proceduresPossess knowledge of financial services industryPossess advanced skill in use of Project Management software to manage projects (such as MS Project and auxiliary tools like earned value database, audit tools, project repository, including risk, issues and action items database, SLIM Estimate, Metrics and natureAbility to analyze contracts and invoices in order to give budget cost and spend recommendations.Duties and ResponsibilitiesResponsible for developing and communicating project management practices for the organization, preparing reporting for Executive Management and Technology Demand Management Team on the project pipeline and status of projects, and providing coaching to team members on project management disciplinesManage project initiation activities that include identifying contractual obligations, bank needs and goals, existing situation, necessary contacts, and access to existing information as neededPlan and coordinate all aspects of technical and non-technical projects from initiation through deliveryFocus on meeting project commitments, including communications with sponsors, stakeholders, team members, and external participantsEnsure requirements for internal projects align to operational standards and develop alternate requirements or document exceptions as appropriateDevelop, define and execute project plans, project scope, activities, schedules, budgets and deliverablesIdentify needed resources for projects, and define and assign major project rolesCoordinate activities and tasks among project team members, other internal departments and client or vendor/subcontractor organizations as needed to meet project goals and ensure project completion is on schedule, within budget constraints, and of the appropriate quality standards for the project scopeAssign and monitor work of project team, providing technical and/or analytical support and direction, and interface with external clients or field-based employees on mattersManage project risks, issues/problems, and activity progress to ensure project goals (for example, deadline, scope and quality) are achieved, and assist with problem resolution or risk mitigation as neededMay manage the integration of vendor/subcontractor tasks, and track and review vendor/subcontractor deliverables, if appropriate for the projectServe as liaison between technical and non-technical teams, in internal organizations as well as in client and vendor/subcontractor organizations, to ensure all project targets and requirements are metDeliver informational and decision-seeking presentations as required to Executive ManagementConduct project closure activities to formalize and communicate the project acceptance, handover documentation and ongoing activities to accountable teams and complete a post-implementation review to identify areas of improvementIdentify project management coordination process gaps or areas for improvement, recommends and implements solutionsSupport budget planning by identifying cost savings and spend reductionsMaintain compliance with regulations and bank policies and procedures, including the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) requirementsConsistently support, uphold and model the organization's core values and standardsComplete other duties as assigned as determined by management to be reasonable and beneficialPhysical RequirementsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate effectively with team members, departments, management, clients, and vendors/subcontractors, both individually and in front of a group. Regular use of the telephone and email for communication is essential. Remaining in a stationary position for extended periods of time is common. Must be able to accurately gather and process verbal and written information and properly prepare or inspect documents. Good manual dexterity is needed for the frequent use of common office equipment such as computer terminals, calculators, copiers and telephones. Occasional out-of-town or overnight travel may be required.
