Job Summary: We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Mechanic Trainee to assist in the maintenance and repair of vehicles or mechanical equipment under the supervision of experienced mechanics. This is an entry-level position ideal for individuals pursuing a career in automotive, diesel, CNG or equipment maintenance and repair.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities:

• Assist senior mechanics with vehicle or equipment diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs.
• Perform routine tasks such as oil changes, tire rotations, and fluid level checks.
• Clean and organize tools, parts, and work areas.
• Learn to use diagnostic tools, hand tools, and repair equipment safely and correctly.
• Follow all safety protocols and shop procedures.
• Keep detailed records of services and repairs performed.
• Attend training sessions and workshops to develop technical skills.

Education and/or Experience:

High school diploma or GED (preferred). Enrollment in or recent completion of a technical school program in automotive or mechanical repair (a plus). Current Virginia Commercial Driver's License Class B with P endorsement (preferred) or Virginia CDL Learner's Permit.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

Strong interest in mechanical systems and hands-on work. Basic knowledge of vehicle components and maintenance procedures. Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team. Physical ability to lift heavy objects and work in a physically demanding environment. Willingness to learn and take on increasing responsibilities. Strong work ethic. Good problem-solving skills. Attention to detail. Time management and reliability. Communication and interpersonal skills.

Position involves a combination of indoor and outdoor working conditions and exposure to safe levels of diesel and cleaning solvent fumes and lubricating oils and grease. Must be able to lift up to 100 lbs. Requires frequent bending and kneeling, with occasional climbing. Must be able to drive and operate a vehicle.
