Welder

MIG or TIG Welder (Early Career)

We are seeking both MIG & TIG Welders to join our production team. This is an ideal role for a welder early in their career-whether you are a recent graduate from a technical welding program or have a few years of shop experience under your belt.

As a MIG/TIG Welder, you will be responsible for performing routine and complex welding operations including fabrication and secondary welding and machining responsibilities such as grinding, finishing, drilling, etc.

Key Responsibilities

• Welding & Fabrication: Perform manual welding on various metals (primarily carbon steel, stainless, or aluminum) based on project specifications.
  
• Blueprint Reading: Interpret basic technical drawings, blueprints, and weld symbols to ensure accurate assembly.
  
• Setup & Calibration: Adjust welding machine settings (voltage, wire feed speed, and gas flow) according to material thickness and type.
  
• Preparation: Clean, grind, and prep surfaces; position and secure workpieces using fixtures, clamps, and jigs.
  
• Quality Control: Conduct visual inspections of completed welds to ensure they meet structural and aesthetic standards (identifying defects like porosity or undercut).
  
• Safety & Maintenance: Maintain a clean workspace and perform routine maintenance on welding equipment and torches.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Experience: 1-3 years of professional MIG or TIG welding experience OR a certificate/degree from an accredited welding school.
  
• Technical Knowledge: Solid understanding of the MIG/TIG welding process, including wire types and shielding gases.
  
• Equipment Proficiency: Comfortable using shop tools such as grinders, band saws, and plasma cutters.
  
• Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and work in a shop environment that may be hot or noisy.
  
• Safety Mindset: Strict adherence to PPE requirements, including welding helmets, gloves, and steel-toed boots.

Preferred Qualifications

• Current AWS (American Welding Society) certifications.
  
• Basic experience with MIG, TIG or Stick welding (FCAW/SMAW).
  
• Experience operating overhead cranes or forklifts.
