Registered Nurse - Telemetry

The position is for a Registered Nurse in the Telemetry specialty. The nurse will work night shifts over a 13-week contract. The average daily census in the unit is 16 patients. The nurse will care for adults and geriatrics. They will have a patient ratio of 1:4 to 1:6. The nurse is required to float between facilities as needed. Basic life support and advanced cardiac life support certifications are mandatory. The nurse will provide care for patients recovering from general surgery, joint replacements, and strokes. Quick assessment and management of cerebrovascular accidents will be expected. The registered nurse will monitor telemetry for cardiac patients. They will administer blood products and perform central line care and management. The position requires knowledge of medication administration protocols, including cardiac drips without titration. The nurse will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including physical therapy and respiratory services. Maintaining effective communication and documentation through the charting system is essential. The role includes providing wound care and managing surgical drains. Isolation precautions and infection control measures must be followed diligently.
