What You’ll Do Provide Care Support patients by obtaining vital signs, conducting health assessments, performing TB testing, and collecting blood specimens. Collect, process, and ship laboratory specimens accurately and safely to ensure timely, high-quality diagnostic testing. Help patients stay engaged in care by coordinating exam scheduling, annual physicals, and preparing monthly testing lists that promote continuity of care. Manage Inventory and Documentation Maintain laboratory supplies, equipment, and inventory to ensure clinicians have their needed resources. Manage laboratory results and maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation while safeguarding patient confidentiality and protected health information. Foster a clean, organized, and sanitary environment that supports patient safety and quality care. Team Building Collaborate with clinical team members by providing support and guidance on laboratory testing and patient care. Required Qualifications Active Medical Assistant certification. Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of OSHA requirements and medical assistant/phlebotomist procedures. Strong communication, decision-making, and computer skills. Physical Requirements And Working Conditions Fast-paced clinical environment with period of increased activity. Exposure to patients with substance use disorders, mental health conditions, infectious diseases, and criminal justice involvement. Prolonged standing, bending, and stooping. Alternating between sitting and standing throughout the workday. Potential exposure to bloodborne pathogens. Use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) when required.
