Job Summary

Join our Musical team as a Sales Associate and Guitar Technician, where your passion for music and customer service will shine! In this dynamic role, you’ll engage with customers to provide expert advice on guitars, drums, band instruments, and musical accessories, demonstrate products, and assist in sales and buy transactions. You will also perform guitar re-strings, setups, and maintenance to ensure our instruments meet the highest standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to combine retail sales expertise with technical skills in guitar servicing, all while creating an inspiring shopping experience for musicians of all levels.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly and identify their musical needs through active listening and product knowledge.
• Conduct engaging product demonstrations, showcasing features and benefits of guitars and related equipment.
• Assist customers with retail sales transactions using POS (Point of Sale) systems, ensuring accurate cash register operations and cash handling.
• Perform guitar repairs, setups, restringing, and basic maintenance to support customer satisfaction and instrument performance.
• Upsell complementary products such as accessories, amplifiers, and instructional materials to enhance customer experience.
• Manage inventory by stocking shelves, organizing displays, and conducting stock counts to maintain a well-stocked store environment.
• Provide exceptional customer service by answering questions about store products, offering personalized recommendations, and maintaining a friendly store atmosphere.
• Conduct product demos for customers interested in trying out guitars or accessories before purchase.
• Maintain proper cash drawer handling procedures and ensure retail math accuracy during transactions.
• Support merchandising efforts by arranging displays that highlight new arrivals or promotional items effectively.

Experience

• Previous retail sales experience preferred, especially within music stores or electronics retail environments.
• Familiarity with POS systems, cash register operations, and retail math calculations is essential.
• Experience performing guitar repairs or technical servicing is highly desirable; certification or formal training in guitar tech is a bonus.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical details clearly; bilingual abilities are advantageous for serving diverse customer bases.
• Knowledge of retail store product knowledge including musical instruments, accessories, and merchandising techniques.
