Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking Registered Nurse (RN) for a Med/Tele unit in a rural setting. The successful candidate will work as part of a cohesive team focused on delivering high-quality care to patients in the community.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients with a variety of diagnoses, including congestive heart failure (CHF), diabetes, pneumonia (PNA), and chronic kidney disease (CKD).
• Monitor and manage patient conditions, including the titration of Heparin drips.
• Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team, including Charge Nurses, House Supervisors, and Nurse Educators.
• Utilize electronic health record systems for patient documentation and care management.
• Participate in floating to other Med/Surg units or PCU as needed to accommodate patient care requirements.

Shift Details

This position offers 12-hour shifts, primarily from 7 AM to 7 PM, with every other weekend and holiday required. Shifts will be scheduled according to the facility's needs, with block scheduling not accommodated. Orientation will include two shadowing shifts to ensure familiarity with unit protocols.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 18 months of recent Med/Tele nursing experience.
• Required certifications: BLS and ACLS.
• Strong communication and time management skills.
• Experience in a rural hospital setting is preferred.
• Ability to read cardiac monitor strips; tele monitor technicians will also assist in patient monitoring.

Unit Information

The unit consists of 25 beds with a patient-to-nurse ratio of approximately 5-6:1. Certified Patient Care Technicians (PCTs) are present to support nursing staff and assist with patient care.

Additional Information

The organization currently utilizes the Paragon charting system and is transitioning to EPIC by October 2026.
