NOW HIRING!! A-Line is seeking a motivated and experienced Material Area Supervisor to lead material handling operations and support daily manufacturing production targets. This position is responsible for supervising teams of hourly employees, overseeing material receiving and delivery activities, resolving operational issues, and ensuring materials are available to support uninterrupted plant throughput.

The ideal candidate will have strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills, along with experience in a manufacturing and/or union environment.

Location: Warren, Michigan
Pay Rate: $32.53 per hour
Schedule: Must be available to work any shift and overtime as required

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who can effectively manage people, materials, equipment, and competing priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This individual should be comfortable working with employees and leadership at all levels while driving safety, productivity, inventory accuracy, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and support teams of hourly, bargaining employees performing material receiving and delivery activities.
• Ensure material handling operations support daily production targets and plant throughput requirements.
• Troubleshoot material flow and operational issues as they arise and allocate appropriate resources and manpower to resolve them.
• Manage employee staffing, absenteeism, training, and continuous improvement involvement.
• Collaborate with union leadership to address employee and team member concerns.
• Monitor and replenish production lineside inventory to maintain appropriate stock levels.
• Manage material handling equipment and support the development of safe operating procedures.
• Coordinate and arrange routine maintenance for material handling equipment.
• Prepare and maintain daily reporting related to safety, quality, throughput performance, and inventory control.
• Interact effectively with employees and leaders at all levels of the organization, including hourly employees, salaried employees, union representatives, and executive leadership.
• Participate in and promote lean manufacturing and continuous improvement activities.
• Support a safe, productive, and collaborative work environment.

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Ability to work any shift and overtime as required.
• Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and responsibilities simultaneously.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite.
• Strong public speaking and presentation skills.
• Strong problem-solving, leadership, and organizational abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or a related field.
• At least 18 months of experience in a manufacturing and/or supervisory role.
• Previous experience working in a union environment.
• Knowledge of and experience applying lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
