Staff Accountant

Century Group is partnering with a client that is seeking a Staff Accountant to join their team. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. Expected starting base salary of $65,000 to $70,000 per year.

Job Responsibilities

• Support project and construction accounting activities by tracking costs, budgets, financial transactions, and project performance.
• Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial schedules to support accurate reporting and close processes.
• Monitor project expenditures, cash flow activity, and budget variances while assisting with financial analysis.
• Review invoices, process accounting transactions, and maintain supporting documentation for capital and operational activities.
• Collaborate with operations, property management, finance, and other departments to support reporting, audits, and special projects.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 2+ years of accounting experience in a professional business environment.
• Previous experience with general ledger accounting, reconciliations, financial reporting, and month end close activities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting or financial software applications.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast paced work environment.

Qualifications

• Prior experience with real estate, project accounting, construction accounting, or similar industries.
• Familiarity with property management or project tracking systems.
• Strong analytical and problem solving abilities with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively across multiple departments.
• Self motivated and organized professional who demonstrates adaptability, professionalism, and a collaborative approach to work.
