Surgical/Scrub Tech Opportunity

Northern Nevada Medical Center is a 124-bed acute care hospital located on 23 hillside acres at 2375 E. Prater Way in Sparks, Nevada.

This Surgical/Scrub Tech opportunity is per diem on our Surgery Unit and offers a convenient schedule. We are looking for a dynamic Surgical/Scrub Tech that will monitor PAR level of all surgical instruments and pain management supplies. Cleans and sterilizes all surgical instruments used in the OR and Pain Center. Participates in departmental staff meetings and performance improvement activities. Demonstrates Service Excellence standards at all times.

Job Duties:

• Interacts professionally with patients and family.
• Provides patient with explanations and verbal reassurance, as necessary.
• Notifies appropriate licensed personnel when patient complains of pain.
• Adapts procedures to meet individual needs of infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients for treatment.

Qualifications Requirements:

• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
• Surgical Technician Certification required (within 6 months of hire) or verifiable hospital surgical tech experience prior to 1/1/2018.
• Current BLS Certification.
• Main OR experience preferred.
• Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
