Minimum Qualifications

• Associate degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited educational program.
• Active Virginia Physical Therapist Assistant license required to start the assignment.
• BLS certification from AHA or ARC may be required.
• Experience in outpatient settings preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to implement treatment plans, document patient progress, and use therapeutic modalities such as hot/cold packs, ultrasound, and TENS.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience training patients in locomotion using orthotics, prosthetics, or assistive devices.
• Familiarity with safe patient handling, infection control, and outpatient clinic workflows.
• Prior experience supporting quality improvement projects and interdisciplinary team conferences.

Assignment Details

• Shift schedule: Monday 6:30 AM12:30 PM; Tuesday and Thursday 9:00 AM7:00 PM; Wednesday 6:30 AM3:00 PM; Friday 7:00 AM3:30 PM.
• Facility may require adherence to established safety and infection control policies.
• Provide therapeutic interventions as directed by a licensed Physical Therapist and document patient responses.

Perform therapeutic interventions such as posture training, strengthening, endurance and balance exercises, joint mobility techniques, and functional skills training to support patients' long-term goals. Train patients and families in safe mobility and use of assistive devices. Participate in interdisciplinary team conferences and quality improvement initiatives. Adhere to safety protocols, document patient progress, and maintain professional relationships with patients and staff.
