MR Imaging Scientist

Position Overview Faculty will be appointed at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor in the In Residence or Adjunct series at the Department of Radiology and Biomedical Imaging, UCSF. Candidates will serve as MR Imaging Scientists, leading research in ultra‑fast, high‑resolution, quantitative imaging with a preference for musculoskeletal imaging, orthopedics, and sports medicine. Responsibilities Develop and maintain an independent research program of excellence focused on ultra‑fast, high‑resolution, quantitative imaging. Collaborate closely with basic scientists and clinical researchers in planning, conducting, and evaluating imaging studies. Teach residents, fellows, medical students, and master’s students in relevant courses and clinical training. Qualifications PhD, MD/PhD, or equivalent in Electrical & Computer Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Physics, or a related field. Post‑graduate or postdoctoral training and research experience for at least two years, with current or pending qualifications listed in the application. Demonstrated ability to secure independent funding and publish in high‑impact venues. The minimum base salary range for this position is $131,200–$344,400, with eligibility for additional compensation under the Health Sciences Compensation Plan.
