Physical Therapist

Job Title: Physical Therapist

Duration: 13 weeks

Shift: 8 hr days/flexible Monday-Friday

Experience: Minimum of two years current experience required in specialty; at least one year of pediatric physical therapy experience if working in pediatrics; must have inpatient and outpatient experience.

License: Must have a valid PT License

Certifications: BLS certification completed through recognized organizations

Must-Have: Must be a team player, flexible, and accustomed to a fast-paced environment.

Description: Floating between departments and/or local locations within a 20-mile radius is required. Evaluates patients regarding the application of a wide variety of therapeutic interventions for rehabilitation of physical and developmental disorders. Requires detailed knowledge of physical therapy in terms of what and how work is to be done, as well as why it is done; this level includes interpretation of data. Basic computer skills are required. Basic understanding of the rules and regulations of the specific setting is necessary. Evaluates and treats patients regarding the application of diverse therapeutic interventions for rehabilitation of physical function and developmental disorders. Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span of patients served. Oversees and ensures a comprehensive rehabilitation program designed to meet the physical, psychosocial, and immediate environmental well-being of the patient. Promotes patient/caregiver self-determination by optimizing outside resource utilization to achieve the highest level of independence. Coordinates and communicates with various disciplines or services involved in patient care. Coordinates efforts toward discharge goals established at the initial evaluation and during the episode of care. Acts as a patient advocate. Performs other duties as assigned. Settings may include inpatient, outpatient, long-term care, community-based care, and home health care. For pediatric physical therapy: Evaluates and treats infants, children, and adolescents for various health conditions, addressing motor development, strength, range of motion, endurance, balance, coordination, gait, etc. Interviews children and family members, using physical examination to diagnose movement disorders. Ability to evaluate and treat patients 18 years old and older. May float to adult units as needed if pediatric patient census fluctuates. Evaluates and treats pediatric patients from birth to 18 years old regarding the application of various therapeutic interventions for rehabilitation of physical function and developmental disorders. Settings include inpatient and inpatient emergency departments.
