Position Summary

The Quality Assurance (QA) Supervisor is a hands-on leader who oversees the day-to-day work of the QA department. The supervisor directs the QA Technicians and leads across all shifts, monitoring, documenting, and reporting on food safety, food quality, and food security throughout juice processing, packaging, storage, the facility, and personnel.

This role ensures that Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), food safety regulations, and product specifications are met on aseptic, fresh, and frozen lines. The supervisor also develops, trains, and mentors each QA Technician so that company and customer food safety and quality standards are understood, maintained, and improved.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Develop, train, and mentor QA Technicians so company and customer food safety and quality standards are understood, maintained, and improved.

• Oversee product testing at all stages of processing and packaging.

• Operate, maintain, and calibrate laboratory equipment.

• Audit and document facility sanitation and GMP compliance, and report findings.

• Monitor scheduled titrations to verify chemical levels of clean-in-place (CIP) cleaning and sanitizing compounds.

• Monitor and document Brix, color, flavor, micro, and processing parameters, including CIP and pasteurization records, cooler and product temperatures, and acid titration, and release product for packaging.

• Monitor finished goods, including packaging and date codes, sampling, leak detection, Brix, micro, color, and flavor.

• Monitor Critical Control Points (CCPs).

• Perform pre-operational visual inspections of packaging and product holding equipment.

• Assist the QA Manager with product traceback exercises, inventory control, ordering, stock rotation, and food safety and quality concerns.

• Complete, organize, and review QA documentation.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

• Experience with food safety regulations, including Juice Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (Juice HACCP).

• Experience with microbiological testing, including traditional micro plating, reading plates, and Hygiena testing.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Knowledge of Quality Assurance Manual (QAM) policies and procedures.

• Able to perform the QA Technician role on aseptic, fresh, and frozen lines.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Independent and self-motivated, able to work with minimal supervision.

Physical Demands

• Able to stand and walk for an entire shift.

• Able to lift up to 50 pounds.

• Able to climb stairs.
