Staff Accountant, Nonprofit | $75K to $80K San Francisco | Hybrid | Full Time An esteemed and stable San Francisco nonprofit organization is seeking a Staff Accountant to join its collaborative Finance and Accounting team. Reporting to the Controller, you will take ownership of key accounts payable and general accounting functions while contributing to month-end close, reconciliations, audits, and special projects. Responsibilities in this important role include: Manage accounts payable, including vendor invoices, corporate credit card expenses, employee reimbursements, W 9s, and annual 1099 processing Prepare journal entries for monthly expenses, prepayments, and accruals and assist with a timely and accurate month-end close Perform monthly AP and general ledger account reconciliations and maintain accurate supporting documentation Support annual financial and tax audits, including preparing requested documentation and working with external auditors Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience 2 or more years of successful accounting experience, preferably within a nonprofit organization Knowledge of GAAP and strong accounting fundamentals Advanced Excel skills and experience with enterprise accounting software NetSuite experience is a strong plus Excellent organizational, communication, and relationship-building skills with strong attention to detail Exceptional Benefits In addition to a $75,000 to $80,000 salary and hybrid work schedule, the organization offers an outstanding benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision coverage for employees and dependents, a retirement contribution equivalent to 9% of salary , 14 paid holidays , and 28 days of PTO annually , with PTO increasing with tenure.
