ASSYST is seeking a QA Test Lead to manage the QA Teams for our client in Austin, Texas (Onsite role).

The ideal candidate will lead quality assurance for a large-scale Electronic Health Record (EHR) SaaS implementation, overseeing QA strategy, test planning, execution, defect management, and coordination with vendors and business stakeholders. Must have extensive experience with healthcare application testing, including EHR workflows, data migration and ETL validation, integration, regression, UAT, and testing of interfaces using tools such as Azure DevOps, ALM, or Jira.

Responsibilities

• Lead the overall QA strategy, testing approaches, schedules, resource plans, and governance for the EHR SaaS implementation.
• Serve as the primary QA point of contact and deliver regular reporting on testing status, risks, metrics, and defects to leadership, IT teams, vendors, and stakeholders.
• Lead validation testing for data migration/conversion from legacy EHR and ancillary systems. Validate patient, clinical, pharmacy, billing, and historical records for accuracy, completeness, and reconciliation.
• Review ETL processes, data mapping, validation rules, reconciliation reports, and perform pre- and post-load field-level verifications.
• Lead functional testing across EHR modules (clinical, scheduling, orders, medications, documentation, billing) and validate end-to-end workflows across clinical and administrative user roles.
• Coordinate testing of interfaces, inbound/outbound data feeds, and downstream reporting impacts.
• Oversee system, integration, and regression testing, as well as full vendor release and SaaS configuration testing.
• Partner with SMEs to prepare UAT scenarios/test cases and guide UAT execution, defect triage, and sign-offs.
• Track, prioritize, and retest defects using tools like Azure DevOps, ALM, or Jira.
• Create and maintain test plans, test cases, traceability matrices, and audit-compliant test evidence.

Required Qualifications: (11+ Years of Experience required for the following:)

• Experience in QA/Test Lead or QA/Test Manager roles.
• Hands-on experience with data validation, data migration, and ETL testing.
• Experience leading functional testing across EHR modules and validating end-to-end clinical/administrative workflows.
• Experience leading validation testing for data migration and conversion from legacy EHR and ancillary systems (reconciling patient, clinical, pharmacy, and billing records).
• Experience ensuring SaaS configuration changes and vendor releases are fully tested.
• Experience coordinating testing of interfaces, inbound/outbound data feeds, and downstream reporting.
• Experience creating and maintaining test plans, test cases, traceability matrices, and test evidence.
• Functional testing experience with EHR or healthcare SaaS platforms in Agile or hybrid environments.
• Experience coordinating testing activities with vendors and multidisciplinary teams.
• Proficiency with test management tools (e.g., Azure DevOps, ALM, Jira).

Preferred Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience with EHR implementations involving clinical, pharmacy, and billing workflows.
• 6+ years of experience with healthcare data standards (HL7, FHIR, CCD/A, ICD, CPT).
• 6+ years of experience with HIPAA, privacy, security, and government healthcare compliance standards.
• 6+ years of experience supporting state or public sector healthcare systems.
