Clinical Nurse Educator

The Clinical Nurse Educator within a unit or area of oversight is responsible for collaborating with the unit coordinator, Nurse Managers and Directors of Nursing across sites to plan and implement specific orientation, in-service education, and staff development. Ensures competency of all staff within clinical area. Provides support in review and development of departmental policies and procedures. Provides specialty-based training and education to bridge the gap between identified educational needs and clinical staff to improve patient outcomes.

Primary Department, Division, or Unit: Maternity and Newborn Nursery, UHS Wilson Medical Center

Primary Work Shift: Day

Regular Scheduled Weekly Hours: 36

Compensation Range: $44.77 - $67.15 per hour, depending on experience

Education/Experience

Minimum Required:

• Bachelors of Science in Nursing
• Three (3) years of nursing practice experience in a clinical setting

Preferred:

• Masters Degree in Nursing or related field
• Previous teaching experience

License/Certification

Minimum Required:

• Current New York State Registered Nurse License
• CPR within 3 months of hire
• Completion of Professional Certification within 3 years.

Preferred:

• Professional Nursing Certification in Professional Development
• Professional Certification in another nursing specialty
