Machine Operator (3rd Shift - $1,500 Sign on Bonus)

Shift 11:00 pm - 7:30 am Job Description Operators are system experts in their assigned area and are highly functional in multiple areas. Operators must ensure efficiency, operational conformance, product quality and continuous improvement. They function as a member of an area team directly responsible for the efficient production of quality products in the required quantities. Operators operate/overlap specified machinery in the assigned area and must have the skill set to train and/or perform the tasks of other associates as needed. This role requires strong communication, interpersonal and team building skills to support site objectives. Functions include changeovers, period deep cleanings, maintaining supplies, filling out paperwork, and performing cleaning/inspection/lubrication tasks (CIL’s). All duties are performed while adhering to and encouraging the Five Principles of Mars. Qualifications Minimum: Grade 12 or High School diploma, or equivalent. Preferred: Associate’s degree or higher in an engineering or manufacturing related discipline. Two or more years of experience in a food‑related manufacturing environment with automated processes, including PLC/HMI is preferred. Preferred knowledge and skills: strong math, communication, computer, and problem‑solving skills; experience in a TPM environment. Physical Requirements Frequent pushing, pulling, dumping and rolling of barrels (25-105 kg). Frequent cleaning of extruders, cooling tunnel and conveyor systems using scraping tools. Frequent lifting/carrying of materials. Frequent standing, walking, reaching, pushing, pulling, stooping and bending. Frequent use of a pallet jack or forklift to move skids. Key Responsibilities Operate all equipment in the assigned work area while ensuring quality, safety and performance standards are met. Communicate effectively with team leader and peers. Follow proper escalation protocol. Complete HACCP and military sheets correctly. Encourage and support a safe working environment. Maintain manufacturing area clean and organized in accordance with 5S standards. Perform cleanouts and changeovers according to work instructions and checklists. Actively participate in TPM (Total Productive Management) teams. Stop the process if a non‑conformance is noticed, following proper escalation protocol.
