Liability Claims Adjuster

Job Description

Are you ready to put your investigative skills to work? If so, our Liability Claims Adjuster investigates, evaluates, and resolves trucking claims involving bodily injury and property damage. Claims range from minor to moderate with severe claims assigned on a case-by-case basis. Investigates and evaluates liability and damages for an optimal claim outcome. Promptly resolves and negotiates fair, cost-effective, consistent and expedited settlements

About the role:

• Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. or 9 a.m. - 6 p.m.
• Handle bodily injury and property damage claims from the beginning to the settlement
• Requires a great deal of investigation
  • Obtaining police report
  • Reviewing Averitt's dash camera
  • Interaction with claimant to determine liability, and/or their attorney
• Administer and resolve assigned claims in a timely manner, in accordance to jurisdictional requirements and company guidelines
• Familiarity with negligence principles, investigation and negotiation techniques
• Provide superior customer service to internal and external parties
• Will also assist in supporting the accident reporting line
  • A dedicated phone number our truck drivers can report an accident to
• Strong organizational skills and detail orientation. Ability to work independently, handle multiple tasks simultaneously and exercise good judgment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Computer literacy, including working knowledge of MS Office including Word and Excel

Job Requirements

• High School diploma or GED required
• Active Adjuster License recommended
• Experience in one of these fields: auto insurance, law enforcement, or legal recommended
• Excellent verbal, written and organizational skills
