LifeFlight Ground Paramedic PRN - Wilson Co.

Job Summary Independently works off assessment skills to activate patient care protocols and deliver care within the Tennessee paramedic scope of practice, as defined by Vanderbilt’s paramedic scope. Responsible for triage care in the field and in the Emergency Department, and for effective communication to ensure safe and quality patient care during transport and handover. Key Responsibilities Actively participate with other members of the healthcare team to provide direct patient care. Transport patients via various modes of transportation while providing quality ALS and Critical Care management to all ages. Respond to emergency requests within Vanderbilt, Vanderbilt‑sponsored, or other contracted events. Utilize the problem‑solving model to independently resolve patient problems and follow through with the Healthcare Team to implement solutions. Identify patient and unit problems, find solutions, and follow through to implementation. Effectively communicate patient handover to the healthcare team. Additional duties may be assigned. Technical Capabilities Assess, Intervene & Stabilize Patients (Novice): Demonstrates basic proficiency in assessing, intervening, and stabilizing patients in moderate difficulty scenarios under direction. Medication Management (Novice): Demonstrates basic proficiency in managing medications, reviewing patient history, and identifying medication-related problems. Critical Thinking (Novice): Demonstrates clarity, accuracy, and disciplined reasoning in task completion. Airway Establishment (Novice): Demonstrates basic proficiency in establishing an airway in moderate difficulty scenarios. Ventilator Management (Novice): Demonstrates basic proficiency in managing ventilators in moderate difficulty scenarios. Shifts Variable 12‑hour shifts, including night, weekend, and holiday coverage: 7:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.–7:00 a.m. Position Qualifications Certifications: Driver’s License (Tennessee), Emergency Medical Technician – Paramedic, and other relevant licensure. Work Experience: Relevant experience in emergency medical services. Experience Level: Less than 1 year. Education: High School Diploma or GED (Required).
