Scientist I – Quality Assurance Laboratory Kelly Science & Clinical is seeking two Scientist I professionals to join a quality-focused laboratory team in Cornelia, GA. This is a great opportunity for both early-career scientists and candidates with prior laboratory experience who are looking to build their skills in analytical testing, instrumentation, and a regulated GMP environment. Position Details Position Title: Scientist I – Quality Assurance Laboratory Location: Cornelia, GA Contract Type: BPO / Contract (12 months, renewable) Pay Rate: $22/hour-$25/hour Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM Overtime: Occasional; based on business needs and with employee consent Training: Monday–Friday, first shift Travel: Potentially approximately once per month to Athens; travel may be infrequent or not required Education: Bachelor’s degree in a science-related field Openings: 2 About the Role As a Scientist I, you will perform routine laboratory testing to support manufacturing and product quality. This position offers hands‑on experience with analytical instrumentation, wet chemistry, laboratory investigations, and testing methods within a GMP-regulated environment. Both openings are open to entry‑level candidates. The team is especially interested in candidates who have a strong foundation in chemistry, laboratory coursework, or hands‑on wet chemistry experience. Candidates with prior GMP laboratory experience and instrumentation exposure are also encouraged to apply. Key Responsibilities Perform routine laboratory testing using analytical instruments and established test methods. Work with instrumentation such as HPLC, GC, UV-Vis, IR, ICP-MS, and viscosity meters. Perform routine instrument calibration and verification checks. Prepare samples and testing materials for analysis. Document test results, observations, calculations, and laboratory activities accurately. Recognize and document issues encountered during testing. Support investigations related to non-conforming materials or laboratory results. Maintain accurate electronic and manual laboratory records. Participate in daily team and laboratory meetings. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment. Follow GMP, ISO, safety, quality, and environmental procedures. Work collaboratively with laboratory and manufacturing teams. Support additional testing methods and laboratory activities as needed. What We’re Looking For Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, or another closely related science discipline. Strong foundational knowledge of chemistry and laboratory principles. Some hands‑on laboratory or wet chemistry experience through employment, internships, research, or academic laboratory work. Familiarity with analytical instrumentation is highly valued, particularly IR and ICP-MS ; experience with HPLC, GC, UV-Vis, or viscosity testing is a plus. Knowledge of GMP and/or ISO standards is preferred. Strong attention to detail and accurate documentation skills. Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a team. Comfortable working in a fast‑paced laboratory environment. Willingness to learn new testing methods and laboratory instrumentation. Training will be provided, so candidates do not need to have experience with every instrument or testing method. The ideal candidate will bring strong laboratory fundamentals, attention to detail, a chemistry-focused mindset, and a willingness to learn. What You Can Expect You’ll participate in team and daily tier meetings before beginning assigned testing for the day. Depending on the laboratory, testing may follow established daily assignments or involve a wider variety of methods. The role combines bench work, established test methods, analytical testing, documentation, and investigations as needed.
