About the Position The finance and accounting associate will be responsible for payables, receivables, credit card transactions and act as back up to the chief financial officer. This is a newly created position to expand our accounting department and responsibilities are expected to grow over time. This position is on-site full time at our Portland office. Responsibilities

• Processing payables, including payments by check, ACH, credit cards and online bill payments
• Processing expense reports per company guidelines
• Preparation of annual 1099s to vendors
• Processing receivables, including billing and posting payments
• Reconciliation of credit cards transactions
• Assist CFO on monthly account reconciliations, department process improvements, appropriate internal controls and provide back up as needed.
• Other duties may involve cash management, involvement in budgeting, corporate insurance, tax reporting, operational and financial reporting, payroll and benefits
• Other projects as assigned

Qualifications

• Minimum of three to seven years of experience in accounting
• Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and financial processes
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
• Ability to document and improve existing processes
• Strong attention to detail, organizational and communication skills
• Exceptional computer skills, able to perform excel/spreadsheet functions, such as pivot tables and VLOOKUP’s. Experience with accounting system Sage Intacct is a plus
• Ability to work in a team environment, adapt to frequent task changes and work well with various personalities
• Willing and able to travel when needed
• Willing and able to participate in firm photography for marketing purposes

Compensation and benefits

• Salary to be consistent with experience and potential, ranging from $75,000 - $100,000
• Benefits for this exempt position include an annual discretionary bonus, profit-sharing contribution, insurance (medical, dental, vision, life & long-term disability), PTO and remote work days (RWD), paid stock market closure days, donation reimbursement, tuition reimbursement, Costco membership, and paid monthly parking.
