Social Studies Teacher

We are looking for a Social Studies Teacher for an international school based in Shanghai. This position is available from the upcoming 2026/27 academic year in August 2026. About the schoolSituated in the bustling metropolitan of Shanghai, China, this bilingual school resides in the Pudong district and is spread across a terrain of 35,000 m2. It comprises of a kindergarten, primary, middle and high school divisions. The school offers courses that are based on the International Baccalaureate (IB) and Advanced Placement (AP) programs with the English language being the medium of instruction.Job ResponsibilitiesTeach the subject of AP social studies to high school students and ensuring an engaging and enriching learning experienceDesign a developmentally appropriate curriculum. Maintain lesson plans, semester plans and notes on learning and goalsMaintain an actively engaged classroom environment. Assess and document student workInstruct and assess students and parents about student performance and behavior. Participate in parent teacher conferences as necessaryWrite individualized advisee conference notes and student reports for each student at required periods during the yearAttend and support after-school activities and programs. (e.g. theater and class program)Co-teach with local English teachers and work collaboratively with other colleagues in the Middle School and across division QualificationsBachelor’s degree required, Master degree in Education preferredExcellent communication skillsTeaching Credentials from respectable universities preferredProactive and collaborate with colleagues to develop activities Salary and benefitsMonthly base salary of 22,000 to 28,000 RMB commensurate with experience and qualificationsMonthly housing allowance of 6000 RMBMedical health insuranceSummer and winter holidayNational holidaysResidence and work permit sponsored
