Ucore is a TSX-listed company commercializing its patent-pending RapidSX rare earth element (REE) separation technology through the advancement of its first commercial REE processing and rare earth oxide (REO) production facility in Alexandria, Louisiana. This facility, the Louisiana Strategic Metals Complex (SMC), is currently under development with engineering underway as of August 2026. Ucore continues to enhance and demonstrate its technology at its RapidSX Commercialization and Demonstration Facility (CDF) in Kingston, Ontario, Canada. The company consists of a small team, with resources located globally and seeks to appoint a Material Handler to join its team. This role will participate in the implementation and support of organizational initiatives. Some travel within the USA and Canada may be required.

The Material Handler, reporting to the Logistics Manager, will work independently and with other plant personnel to oversee the operation of the facility. This role will ensure the safe, efficient and compliant operation of the plant. The Material Handler role is critical to safely meet production goals, minimize downtime, and maintain high-quality standards.

A Material Handler for rare earth elements refining Rapid SX solvent extraction receives and moves raw materials, manages chemical feeds inventory, and operates heavy equipment. The role is responsible to safely handle hazardous chemicals including unloading and loading tanker trucks and railcars, and shipping finished rare earth products while following strict environmental and safety rules.

Selected candidates will be involved with equipment installations, startup and the commissioning of manufacturing and facilities equipment. All tasks will be performed while supporting the policies, goals, and objectives of the organization.

Material Handler: The role will be based in Alexandria, Louisiana, with possible travel to Kingston, Ontario.

Primary Responsibilities

• Move heavy drums, bags, and pallets using a forklift or crane.
• Unload process chemicals into bulk storage tanks.
• Monitor and audit inventory levels
• Take material samples for the laboratory team of incoming feedstock.
• Keep the work area clean and free of spills.
• Wear required personal protective equipment and adhere to the company clean shave policy.
• Follow strict hazardous material and OSHA guidelines.
• Respond to chemical spills or plant emergencies properly.
• Complete daily safety checklists for mobile equipment.
• Use ERP system to ship, receive and update material inventory.
• Other duties as assigned by management.

Essential Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Valid forklift certification or a clean driving record.
• Ability to lift heavy weights up to 50 pounds.
• Basic math and computer skills for inventory tracking.
• Strong focus on workplace safety, attention to detail and chemical handling.
• Availability to work rotating 12 hour shifts to accommodate 24/7 manufacturing operations.

Desired Requirements

• Experience with solvent extraction metallurgy is considered an asset.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
• Ability to travel.
• Ability to respond to emergency callouts outside normal working hours.
• Ability to walk and stand for extended periods throughout a plant environment.
• Ability to climb stairs, platforms, and access elevated or restricted areas.
• Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach as needed for inspections.
• Ability to visually inspect equipment, systems, drawings, gauges, and work areas.
• Ability to hear alarms, equipment sounds, and communications in a noisy environment.
• Ability to work safely around machinery, dust, noise, vibration, and temperature extremes.
• Ability to wear required PPE and comply with all plant safety requirements.
