Data Engineer - ETRM / Energy Trading

Job Requirements

• 8+ years of professional experience in data engineering specifically within energy trading or ETRM environments.

• Proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server database design, high-level stored procedures, and query performance tuning.

• Experience in architecting and maintaining complex ETL workflows utilizing SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).

• Experience with ETRM platform data structures related to settlements, scheduling, pricing, and risk management.

• Experience with Python development using Pandas and NumPy for automated data processing and API integrations.

• Experience with Oracle database extractions and enterprise reporting using SSRS, Power BI, or Tableau.

• Excellent communication skills for translating complex trading requirements into technical data solutions.

Job Responsibilities

• Lead the architectural design and optimization of enterprise data pipelines supporting ETRM platform operations.

• Engineer robust ETL processes using SSIS to integrate time-series, market, and commodity-trading datasets.

• Execute advanced SQL Server performance tuning and database object maintenance for business-critical systems.

• Develop Python scripts to automate data transformation, validation, and complex data-management workstreams.

• Architect dimensional data models and warehousing solutions focused on energy settlements and market pricing.

• Construct enterprise-level reporting dashboards and visualizations using SSRS and Power BI for trading stakeholders.

• Manage cross-platform data integrations between SQL Server, Oracle, and third-party market data providers.
