This position is responsible for preparing meals for events for University Catering and may include some additional work with the Aggie Marketplace. Duties include:

• Ensuring proper food handling procedures and adhering to quality expectations
• Keeping work station clean, orderly, and sanitized
• Plating and presenting food as specified for each event
• Cooking meats, sauces, starches, and vegetables
• Help other areas during busy times
• Other duties assigned

Minimum qualifications:

• 2-3 Years Catering Cooking Experience OR 3-4 Years Restaurant Line Cook Experience
• Available to work Monday-Saturday as needed for scheduled events
• Food Handler's Permit is required within the first 30 days of employment.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Knowledge of the care and use of food service equipment and kitchen utensils.
• Knowledge of health hazards in food preparation, service and necessary precautionary measures.

This position requires moderate physical activity. Employees must have sufficient strength to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position including moderate lifting (up to 50 pounds), walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, and squatting. This position requires nearly continuous standing, repetitive hand motions, and reaching overhead. Employees may be exposed to unusual elements including extreme temperatures, steam, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises. Employees are required to use utensils and equipment relating to food service operations.
