In the Technical Specialist position, the individual is responsible for outside customer sales and sales satisfaction through direct contact, phone, or other electronic communications. Sales functions include territory management, customer interaction activities, prospecting for new customers, contract/pricing negotiations, product presentation, inventory management, uncovering needs and closing sales. Individual will be placed in an established account base and will be encouraged to achieve sales and margin objectives.Exciting work you will do:The essential duties and responsibilities of the Outside Sales Technical Specialist will consist of, but are not limited to, the following:Manage, grow, strategize, and support the assigned territoryWork alongside an established team covering multiple states in the Midwest marketGenerate profitable orders and meet or exceed annual sales targetsActively seek out new clients to expand the assigned territoryMaintain strong and trusted relationships with manufacturers and customersRegularly analyze your field activities, determine the improvements required, act on them, ultimately bringing a high level of productivity and efficiencyMonitor and review all quotations, professionally follow-up, and maximize salesDevelop a full understanding of your client base, territory, competition, and marketAbility to communicate clearly and efficiently, negotiate effectively, manage sales planning skillsIdentify all sales opportunities and work earnestly to convert them to ordersPerform other duties as assignedCompetencies you possess:Service ExcellenceResults, Action OrientedAccountability and ResponsibilityTeamwork and CollaborationPriority SettingPlanning and OrganizingNegotiatingPresentation SkillsTime ManagementWhat you’ll need:Work Experience: Minimum 1-year experience in outside salesEducation: Bachelor’s degree, technical degree, or equivalent combination of skills and experienceAnalytics/Computer Skills: Proficient with Microsoft Office products (e.g. Word, Excel, etc.) and the ability to learn new software; business acumen, including problem solving skills, critical thinking, and analytical abilitiesOrganization Skills: Highly organized and detail-oriented; ability to multi-task and shift priorities as needed; ability to work in fast-paced, continuously evolving environmentCommunication Skills: Strong interpersonal communications, analytical and problem solving, organizational and written/verbal communication skills; strong influencing skillsPhysical, Mental and Visual Skills: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
