Interim Pharmacist Opportunity

Join an acute care hospital pharmacy team providing critical clinical support in a diverse medical environment featuring med-surg, ICU, and women's health specialties. This contract role offers an opportunity to contribute your pharmacy expertise in a dynamic setting, covering approximately three days per week with flexible scheduling to align with department needs.

Location: Forrest City, Arkansas

Position Type: Contract Interim Pharmacist

Schedule:

• Monday through Thursday, 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM
• Friday, 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM
• Weekend coverage not required
• No on-call responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

• Verify medication orders with clinical accuracy
• Perform IV compounding under established protocols
• Provide oversight and guidance for pharmacy technicians
• Collaborate closely with pharmacy staff to ensure medication safety and compliance

Pharmacy Support Tools and Environment:

• Utilize the Medhost order entry system with onsite training available
• Manage medication dispensing through Pyxis ES automated systems (no prior experience required)
• Work alongside a team comprising one full-time pharmacist and one pharmacy technician

Qualifications & Experience:

• Pharmacy licensure required in Arkansas
• Hospital pharmacy experience preferred to effectively manage medication distribution and clinical demands
• Ability to adapt in acute care settings, supporting diverse patient populations

Orientation includes 23 days of training to ensure seamless integration into existing workflows and systems.
